Pet part three oral exam practice

Hello year six pet students. Here are some photos to use for speaking practice.

Before you start, go to http://www.flo-joe.com/preliminaryenglish/speaking/pet_speaking_practice_test_part_3.htm to practise this part of the exam.

1) Choose a picture, and use the notes we made in class to think about and prepare what you want to say. Remember to go from speaking about the picture in general, to being more specific.

I think they must be.... because....
he looks like he is....
perhaps/maybe she is....
In the middle of the picture there is/are...
On the left you can see....on the right....in the background...

Try to use a variety of expressions and vocabulary, avoid repetition. Keep speaking at all costs....say anything and everything you can think of! The most important thing is to keep speaking, it doesn't matter if you make some grammatical mistakes.

Look up any vocabulary you don't know in the dictionary.

2) Speak for at least one and a half minutes about the picture, using your notes to help you. (I want you to get used to speaking for longer than a minute.)

3) Speak for at least one and a half minutes about the picture, without using your notes. You could do this in front of your parents, your brother or sister, your dog, your goldfish! Remember to speak clearly and try not to hesitate for too long.

4) Choose another picture another day and do the same, and the last picture another day. (always plan what you are going to say first, and look up vocabulary in the dictionary to improve your English.) Try to speak about all of them this weekend.
